Job Summary

GLG is seeking a Client Solutions Director (known internally as Pod Leader) to oversee multiple client service teams within the Americas Client Solutions division of GLG, in our Austin, Texas office. The Pod Leader will work at the forefront of innovation by collaborating with business leaders to develop, communicate, and implement leading business performance improvement, technology, and people initiatives.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Manage multiple teams towards meeting or exceeding business targets (commercial, quality, and service)
  • Driving commercial and operational best practices within their pod through continuous improvement and close coaching of Team Leaders
  • Ensuring his/her teams meet or exceed their commercial, development, compliance, and people goals.
  • Develop managerial and commercial capabilities of Team Leaders
  • Collaborate with Team Leaders & Business Development to develop and implement account strategies for team’s book of business with a focus on key accounts & largest commercial opportunities
  • Ensures pods adherence to workflow, process, and compliance guidelines, optimizing load balancing and delegation to bring the best of GLG to every project, win majority market share and maximize Client commercial success
  • Spearhead the implementation of change initiatives by translating strategy into tactical actions for Team Leaders
  • Support talent planning for the pod, considering individual team hiring needs, broader budget considerations, retention of top performers, and needs and direction of the business
  • Support Sr. Leadership with business initiatives, communication, and priorities by contributing to brainstorming, strategy discussions, testing, implementation, and measuring the effectiveness
  • Champion change and build buy-in for change amongst the team. Exemplify GLG leadership and culture in and outside the team


An ideal candidate will have the following:

  • 6-8 years of client service or consulting experience with 2-4 years of direct management experience
  • Background in service operations or lean operations a plus
  • Results-oriented focus and track record of business growth/turnaround
  • Proven ability to manage multiple teams and create followership
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive, client service-oriented work environment
  • Experience with leading teams in a metrics-driven, entrepreneurial, and challenging environment
  • Passion for problem-solving and delighting clients
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to engage with senior leadership
  • Prior success in global and cross-functional collaboration
  • Understanding of professional services firms, financial services or corporate clients. Interest in working across industries (energy, consumer, healthcare, technology financial services, etc.)
