Engagement Team Leader, Life Sciences

GLG is seeking an Engagement Team Leader (ETL) to oversee a client service team of 2 - 5 research professionals within the Life Sciences segment. The ETL will own a fast-paced book of business comprised of Life Sciences clients across the United States. The ETL will be responsible for coordinating and executing short- and mid-term client projects and activities; driving continuous improvement through close coaching on project management and client service; ensuring his/her team meets or exceeds its commercial, development, compliance, and people targets; supporting Life Sciences Business Development in expanding client relationships in the segment; and working with team and Life Sciences Leadership in developing and implementing business performance improvement initiatives.

The role is based in GLG’s Austin, Texas office and reports to a Life Sciences Pod Leader in the New York City office. 

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Manage and lead a team of junior to mid-level professionals. Ensure best-in-class client service practices are upheld through close coaching and support of direct reports in their professional development, while actively managing overall team performance. Exemplify GLG leadership and culture in and outside of the team.
  • Facilitate educational interactions between GLG experts (including industry executives, independent consultants, academics, and former policy makers across all sectors) and our clients. Clients seek GLG's support on due diligence research, internal studies, or other strategic/operational engagements. Interactions mainly consist of 1:1 telephone consultations, but may also consist of surveys, in-person meetings, panels, or other custom, in-depth engagements.
  • Support the Life Sciences Business Development team in growing GLG client relationships in the Life Sciences segment, including new clients as well as senior stakeholders, through proactive phone outreach, project execution, post-project client feedback, and occasionally in-person client meetings in partnership with Business Development colleagues.
  • Develop and implement strategy for key Life Sciences accounts in close collaboration with Life Sciences Leadership and Business Development teams. Track team performance and create plans to accelerate growth and revenue near- and long-term.
  • Enhance the GLG’s Council Membership by developing relationships with GLG’s most respected thought leaders and business professionals. Recruit new senior executives and experts into the GLG Membership through networking and direct outreach.

 

An ideal candidate will have the following:

  • 2 - 4 years of experience in a direct client service capacity
  • Results-oriented focus and track record of business growth / turnaround
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a team of client service professionals
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and client service-oriented work environment
  • Excel in a metrics-driven, entrepreneurial, and challenging environment
  • Passion for problem-solving and delighting clients
  • Outstanding communication skills and willingness to call and engage senior professionals
  • Understanding of Life Sciences industry and clients
  • Past experience in a Life Sciences related field
