Senior Manager, GLG Learning

Background:

As GLG’s business continues to grow in Greater China and Asia overall we have identified an opportunity to increase our product delivery capabilities for value-added services offerings. GLG is the world’s leading professional learning platform with over 1,300 employees helping our client companies to answer specific questions through 1:1 learning.  Our Council Members are a highly vetted group of over 500,000 professionals who have joined GLG to help answer these questions from GLG Clients, typically in brief micro-consulting consultations. 

The role of the Senior Manager, GLG Learning, will be to design and build out our delivery capabilities for group learning held by our Council Members or third parties for our clients or partners, in particular our corporate customers. Another significant aspect of this role will be  to work closely with channel partners – specifically Internet companies.

This is a key role with an exceptional opportunity for someone with entrepreneurial mindset to drive the new initiatives. The role will report to Head of China work closely with Head of Network Development and the Sales team across all China. This role is designed for someone who can move initiatives forward with autonomy from day one.

Specific responsibilities include (not limited to):

Capability Expansion: Identify current and potential Council Members with relevant expertise for learning sessions. Work with internal team to recruit additional Council Members where gaps exist. Vet Council Member’s training capabilities.

Design & Delivery: Work with Sales and Research Managers to identify clients’ training needs. Design training curricula. Prioritize and review training materials, delivery formats, hold mock sessions and provide feedback.

Business Development: Market GLGs training and education capabilities to our current & potential clients. Continuously improve and expand training offering on the basis of client feedback. Develop a business plan for further enhancing the offerings of this module.

Channel Partner Relationship: Build on existing relationships with third party Internet partners to develop training modules targeted at online customer group.

 

Qualifications and experience required

  • 5-8 years’ experience in corporate training or continuing education, managerial experience strongly preferred
  • Native Mandarin with excellent spoken/written English skills
  • Expertise in design and delivery of training courses targeted at adults
  • Awareness about Internet-based or remote learning will be a plus.
