Brief Job Description

A Manager within our Compliance team would be required to lead a group, act as a thought partner and assist with daily operational challenges. He/ she will be responsible to develop subject matter expertise on Compliance issues and shall be the first point of contact for Research Professionals and Global Compliance members. The individual will be interpreting internal policies and guidelines, determining required actions and making recommendations based on firm guidance and framework.

Full Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for applying GLG’s industry-leading compliance policies and advancing other compliance-related initiatives. A successful candidate will be highly organized, efficient, proactive, and demonstrate very strong attention to detail. The responsibilities would include making sure that a group of individuals are responsive to research needs on immediate basis, performing in-depth reviews of the task assigned, analysing and arriving at logical and factual conclusions, since the work product is subject to review and scrutiny by clients/ regulators and senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a group of Research Support Specialists, Analysts and Senior Analysts to execute daily workload, provide thought leadership and sound business judgment to drive the team’s research and analysis.
  • Identify the team’s development needs and consistently provide feedback toward constant improvement
  • Understanding and enforcing key requirements of firm and regulators’ Legal & Compliance rules and policies and Identifying and applying a strong distinction between the correct/incorrect business practices and escalate any compliance breaches;
  • Individual will reference existing policies; however, due to frequency of unique situations will need to research issues and, through situation specific inquiries, propose solutions to issues

Required Skills:

  • Graduate/post-graduate MBA from top-tier colleges with strong academic records and minimum 5-8 years of relevant industry experience; Candidates with experience in Compliance & Fraud Analysis will be preferred;
  • Should possess excellent analytic, work planning, communication and team skills
  • Able to work and deliver under minimal supervision/independently
  • Respond effectively to management direction and clients’ needs;
