Content Manager (Events)

GLG’s Events & Marketing team programs compelling interactions with global thought leaders and top professionals, while overseeing all surrounding and supporting logistics. The Events Content Manager will play a key role in shaping and growing the APAC events programme. This position requires an event professional who will collaborate with sales and client solutions teams to identify, program, and execute a portfolio of meetings, round-tables and high-profile senior client events that drive GLG’s commercialization goals. This position will cover events primarily host across Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, and Australia, and at times curate content for other countries within APAC.

Position Overview:

GLG’s Events leverages GLG’s core asset – the GLG Council Members – to participate in small and midsize group meetings, roundtables, Convenes; as well as virtual events including webcasts and teleconferences with clients and GLG Council Members. This position will focus on the strategic development and programming of multiple meetings and events for financial services and corporate users.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce and facilitate content to help support GLG events and branding activities in HK:

Event content / editorial manager

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop, research and produce content-driven events
  • Research, interview experts, learn industry, invite speakers and write copy for marketing and sales strategy
  • Manage events’ production process and ensure timely delivery
  • Provide editorial function for English related content, including verifying content submissions and copy editing

Marketing & branding

  • Assist with content for marketing materials, including promotional and descriptive copy
  • Collaborate with Marketing to identify suitable content marketing opportunities
  • Manage digital and print collaterals; support the creation, circulation and inventory of all English marketing collaterals and branded items
  • Support other branding and marketing activities in the region (i.e. logistics and content)

Leadership of internal team across multiple meetings and event projects, with a strong emphasis on:

  • Ability to demonstrate best practice standards and process with strong decision-making abilities
  • Passionate to enhance and improve user experience in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Client-facing, customer service expertise including effective and professional oral and written communication.

Operational management of multiple meetings and events in HK:

  • Strategic planning of event formats and live meetings 
  • Work with operations team to arrange and prepare logistics needs
  • Budget and financial management, with emphasis on project-based profitability and ROI

For this position, we seek applicants with bachelor's or master’s degrees from top-tier colleges or universities, or equivalent work experience. The following factors will strengthen an applicant’s candidacy:

  • 4-5 post postgraduate experience in positions of increasing responsibility within a PR/marketing agency, conference or trade-show producer, related media company, and/or MNC in a related field
  • Experience in researching and proposing themes and topics for content-driven live events
  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills a pre-requisite
  • Strong track record for project management, stakeholder collaboration (internal and external) and working in a fast-moving, team environment
  • Development and management of external partners and vendors for multiple event projects
  • Familiarity with analytics and reporting
  • High levels of proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (including Excel and Word) and other database and technology tools
  • Experience with design process and design tools (preferred)
  • Fluency in another Asian language a plus
