Position Overview:

GLG is seeking a senior leader to own responsibility for its Strategic Projects (SP) and Quantitative Insights (QI) products in the APAC region. This person will have strategic and operational responsibility for enhancing and extending GLG’s brand, reputation, and recognition among target market segments for the QI and SP products. He/she will lead a QI team to help clients qualify and quantify industry/market trends through pipeline analyses, commercial assessments, product forecasting, and general marketplace analysis. In addition, the person will work with an SP Associate to collaborate with Research Managers and Sales to help investors, business leaders and entrepreneurs solve some of their most complex business challenges by combining the problem solving and management skills of top-tier independent consultants and the real-life experience of leading industry experts.

The Head of Products APAC will report to the Global Head of Strategy, with a dotted-line reporting relationship with GLG’s Head of APAC Operations, and be a senior member of the rapidly growing business. Close collaboration with the APAC research and sales teams, as well as its sophisticated client base will also be crucial for success.  These partnerships, paired with analytical frameworks and business intelligence, will aid in developing and executing a thoughtful growth strategy for GLG’s QI and SP products in the APAC region.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Projects (SP)

  • Develop and grow the Strategic Projects’ business through internal cross-BU collaboration.
  • Support all aspects of Strategic Projects’ deal development and closing, scoping and structuring, manage projects from start to finish and work hand-in-hand with each engagement team and senior client to ensure top quality level of service and deliverables (i.e., similar to a principal role in a consulting firm)
  • The role also provides regular exposure to the full GLG senior management team and broader organization, and unlimited opportunities to build strong relationships with our clients and experts.
  • At the same time, the role will enjoy a great deal of autonomy to own and drive forwards projects, and as the role progresses to own delivery of larger projects and implementations.
  • Work closely with top-tier independent experts to meet client needs
  • Work with GLG Business Development and Research teams to ensure full internal collaboration on projects
  • Lead internal and external Strategic Projects business development initiatives, and contribute to growing GLG SP to a $50M+ business
  • Mentor junior colleagues


Quantitative Insights (QI)

  • Help manage the commercial success and growth plan of the QI product, and the performance of individual associates within the APAC team
  • Innovate around research design and products, targeting specialized topics and populations
  • Collaborate with GLG Sales and Research to drive increased awareness of the GLG’s QI product through thoughtful and customized marketing and selling
  • Lead the pitching, execution, and delivery of customized survey products to GLG’s clients
  • Develop, implement and enforce best practices for project execution

 Required Skills:

  • 5+ years at a leading management consulting firm, with exposure to quantitative market research
  • Strong project management, written and oral communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial zeal, think creatively and focus on opportunities for growth
  • Interest in leading negotiations and closing deals
  • Exhibit constant attention to detail
  • Experience in analyzing results, communicating quantitative research results to stakeholders, and some knowledge of statistical techniques
  • Experience leading teams and developing junior members
  • Experience of fully owning P&L responsibilities, and driving growth
  • Experience collaborating with team-members in a high-throughput, deadline-driven, process-oriented, client-servicing environment
  • A demonstrated strong understanding of financial markets a plus
