Job Summary

GLG, the world’s leading professional learning company, is seeking a Senior Vice President business leader for our EMEA Financial Services Client Solutions team in London. The Segment Leader will be responsible for managing a team towards meeting or exceeding business targets. They will spend time coaching and managing their team whilst working with GLG’s leadership to improve and innovate our membership and product offering for private equity firms as well as building better relationships with daily users and senior client partners and stakeholders.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to): 

Client & Commercial Leadership

  • Manage towards a revenue target by growing and developing key client accounts and the pursuit of new business.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key users at client firms including senior level executives.
  • Review and be on top of key leading and lagging indicators (i.e. yield, market share, quality, service, and commercial) for own practice and teams, and people on weekly basis (more often if needed)
  • Through robust knowledge of investment strategies and collaboration with senior counterparts, effective prioritization of high opportunity/risk accounts by appropriate understanding of health across the portfolio and coordination of levers, including resource allocation (quantity and calibre of GLG research professionals), service and product segment-specific initiatives.
  • Identify business gaps, facilitate / support problem solving sessions to identify root causes and potential corrective actions
  • Innovate around products and services that will lead to growth in usage and revenue from your clients and work with Research, Sales and product teams to bring ideas to fruition.
  • Deliver world-class client service marked by high levels of responsiveness, accuracy, insight, urgency and attention to detail and serve as an example of excellence in client services to others within GLG.
  • Support teams as needed on key commercial opportunities and priorities

 Talent Development

  • Coordinate people development in the segment through monthly 1x1s with Senior Team Leaders, close coaching, training, and daily feedback. Ensure tracking levels across segment meet business unit Client Solutions splits and guidelines
  • Complete autonomy in driving best practice service behaviours within the segment including proactive identification of opportunities.
  • Support team hiring needs (i.e. define demand for segment, make segment level hiring / budget recommendations, perform interviews, support decision making for BU)
  • Effective and inspirational communication of business unit priorities ensuring strong followership and high levels of motivation towards goals.

Process & Operating Effectiveness

  • Ensure own segment adheres to business unit best practices guidelines, follow up and owns process confirmations for workflow related best practices (e.g. intake, highlights, recruiting, etc.)
  • Proven relationship building with internal stakeholders exhibiting best-in-class professional conduct ensuring collaboration across business units.
  • Coordinate daily segment check-in, ensure priorities and load is balanced across teams, help define (override if needed) Team Leader’s teams priorities
  • Support Senior Leadership with Client Solutions wide initiatives, communication, and priorities by contributing to brainstorming, strategy discussions, testing, implementation, and measuring effectiveness as requested
  • Serve as a Client Solutions stakeholder for broader GLG initiatives and thought partner to Sales and other BU leaders

  An ideal candidate will have the following:                          

  • 8 -12 years’ experience demonstrating best in class client service capabilities
  • Understanding of financial services, in particular Private Equity
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a team of client service professionals
  • Successful track record of working in fast paced, client service environment
  • Strong go-do attitude and track record of business growth / turnaround
  • Passion for problem solving and continuous improvement
