The Junior Business Development Associate (JBDA) role on our North American Financial Services – New Business team will support senior hunters taking our message to the market. By learning and supporting the building blocks of world-class prospecting and sales process – account mapping, content-led outreach, collateral development and new client onboarding – the JBDA will become fluent in internal systems and processes required for the New Business team and, ultimately, themselves, to be successful driving commercial wins for GLG.

 

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):


The JBDA role on our North American Financial Services – New Business team is effectively a support function with a timeline of 0-6 months for onboarding, learning and support, 6-12 months to become prospect-facing alongside senior team members. The JBDA role is expected to track into a Sales Development role engaging prospective users full time after 12 months.

 

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Support marketing-sales coordination and NB team content-led outreach efforts
  • Collaborate with senior NB team members on lead management and account mapping
  • Become a master of internal systems and processes, and a resource for fellow team members
  • Learn best practices across pipeline development, consultative selling and closing deals

 

Goals & Expectations:

 

  • Tight coordination with NB team members and stakeholders across GLG
  • Help develop, customize and improve pitch and marketing collateral
  • Drive content engine to improve outreach response rates
  • Monitor, consolidate and distribute important themes for GLG prospects
  • Participate in internal GLG Learning & Development initiatives

 

Candidates should be high energy and eager to contribute, with a demonstrated interest in the intersection of technology and financial services. Strong communication skills required.

Candidates must have a clear track record of excellence in several categories, including: teamwork, professionalism, communications, organization and client service.  Candidates should also possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required with up to 2 years of professional experience
  • The ability to build strong and lasting relationships with peers and, ultimately, senior decision makers;
  • Ability to work well independently and be self-motivated;
  • A demonstrated ability to read and understand people
  • A strong passion for persuasion, especially around complicated and intellectually-challenging issues; 
  • Superior verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
