Job Summary

The Learning and Development Manager is a highly proactive self-motivator who can understand evolving business priorities and synthesize complex information to develop high-impact learning content for GLG professionals.  As part of the Global Learning & Development team, this individual will work to foster a culture of learning across the company and contribute to the growth and direction of an evolving learning curriculum.  This role will work closely with our Business Development leaders to empower sales professionals and boost business results through the development of interactive and timely sales training, and will also work on and contribute to other learning programs at GLG.

 

Learning and Development Managers are credible and passionate leaders who establish themselves as critical resources for leaders and their teams at GLG.  They are knowledgeable about effective program design and are highly skilled in all elements of program design and able to effectively transform general concepts into effective and relevant training content of varying forms (in-person, virtual, microlearning, etc.). They are proven project managers who are nimble and able to skillfully balance multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities.  Successful Learning & Development Managers are exceptional relationship builders and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of seniority.  They regularly partner with GLG leadership to understand learning needs and then synthesize this information to create innovative and strategic training that empowers GLG professionals to excel in their roles and grow professionally.

About the Global Talent Management Team:  The Global Talent Management Team is responsible for fostering a culture of learning and curiosity across the company by providing innovative programming and opportunities for professional and personal development to all GLG employees.  This team partners closely with senior leadership in order to drive learning content that directly supports GLG business goals and values.

 

 

An ideal candidate will have the following:

For this position, we seek applicants with bachelor's or master’s degrees.  The following factors will strengthen an applicant’s candidacy:

  • 3-5 years Learning & Development experience
  • Proven experience in creating or leading effective sales training through a variety of methods
  • Self-driven and persistent; able to achieve lofty goals with minimal oversight
  • Proven ability to quickly grasp GLG’s business model, processes, and workflow
  • Proven ability to collaborate across teams and with senior leadership to generate results
  • Ability to design and facilitate innovative and dynamic training sessions to small and large groups of varying seniority
  •  Experience partnering with external vendors to develop customized training modules for a business
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and active listening.
  • Ability to produce high-quality deliverables in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable with PowerPoint and Excel
  • Some travel required
