Job Summary

GLG, the world’s leading professional learning company, is seeking a marketing leader to join our Corporate Markets team in New York, NY as a VP of Marketing.

 

The Vice President of Marketing, Corporate Markets, will lead the development of the marketing messaging and strategies across the Technology, Industrials, and Life Sciences verticals, reporting to the General Manager of the group. Most importantly, this person will own the voice of the customer, deep understanding of target personas, and work with sales and account management on campaigns to connect with these ideal roles.

 

Focused on revenue impact, the ideal candidate will bring analytical rigor, empathy for our customers, and storytelling to this growing business unit. This leader will lead the effort across content, demand generation, and product marketing, including a team within the Corporate Markets group.  The VP of Marketing will own the materials and technology needed to convince customers throughout the funnel - from programs to build awareness, to sales materials and case studies, to automated campaigns to stay top-of-mind. This role will lead the strategy in applying data and scoring to existing prospects, and existing customers, communicating lead priority to the sales and account management teams. The VP will be both a great storyteller and a data-oriented revenue leader.

 

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Develop marketing strategies for target industries and target accounts (account-based marketing).
  • Align marketing investment to revenue targets, building pipeline goals alongside sales and account management.
  • Report to the General Manager weekly on campaign performance and next steps.
  • Identify or build compelling content and messages for the team’s target customers.
  • Build strategies across outbound channels to engage target customers (e.g. Marketo, LinkedIn).
  • Plan for consistent data evaluations and scrubs.

                                                           

Primary duties include:

  • Implement marketing programs to increase product awareness and build knowledge of user experience, services and content.
  • Outlining marketing strategy to support new and existing business targets.
  • Development of customer personas, in conjunction with the sales and account management team.
  • Consistent investment in the voice of the customer, both on current offerings and needed product development to address market needs.
  • Develop content calendars with the central content organization teams to feed engagement campaigns.
  • Manage team members in the development of outbound email campaigns and paid media alongside the account teams.
  • Improve data integrity and richness.

 

An ideal candidate will have the following:

  • 6-10+ years of marketing experience, with at least 5 years of B2B or technology marketing expertise.
  • Preference for oversight of a demand generation function and experience working in support of a sales organization.
  • Experience with Salesforce and a marketing automation platform (Marketo, preferred).
  • Executive-level interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to collaborate; effectively working across multiple levels, roles, and functions in the organization.
  • Experience with team and budget management, aligned to revenue targets.
