TARGET POPULATION

The GLG Survey team interviewed 50 hotel owners, brand franchisees, C-suite hotel chain executives and managers across Europe & the US.

What will you learn from this survey?

  • Respondents provided their view on the disruption facing the lodging industry from the rapid spread of COVID-19 across the globe.
  • The survey explores hotel operator perception on the short and long term implications for hotel owners, franchisors, and lenders in the industry.
  • The survey also investigates the possible relief that lenders and franchisors are providing to hotel owners during this time, as well as staffing reductions undertaken by hotel owners to mitigate losses.

  • What was the occupancy rate in your hotel(s) in each month [March to August]?
  • What do you expect your occupancy rates to be for 2020, overall?
  • What were your occupancy rates for 2019?
  • What is your expected revenue decline for [month] 2020 compared to [month] 2019?
  • When will your business return to the levels of 2019?
  • What percentage of your cancelled [leisure/business] business do you expect to be rebooked in 2020/2021?
  • What percentage of your loss in revenue do you expect will be reimbursed by governmental support?
  • What percentage of your hotel(s) do you expect will be permanently closed?

DELIVERABLES

The GLG Survey team drafted the questionnaire with the support of GLG Council Member, Neil Amin, CEO of Shamin Hotels since 2008.

The standard deliverable, includes:

  • 1 x Individual responses (“raw data”), in Excel.
  • 1 x PPT report with aggregated data.

ACCESS

This survey is available to subscribers of the Consumer Goods and Services (CGS) sector (Limited subscriptions and above).

  • For those with a subscription not including the above, cost of the survey is $5,000 USD. This offer includes the raw data file and a high-level presentation through PowerPoint.
  • A more detailed set of cross-tabulation tables (i.e. comparison of the data in different segmentation groups such as country and different brands, etc.) will be provided upon request for an additional charge of $1,500 USD.

Upon finding these terms acceptable, please send an affirmative confirmation via email, which GLG will file in its records. Once confirmed, please note that the Client’s agreement to purchase the Network Survey is a legally binding and irrevocable commitment. If the survey is not included within your subscription, GLG will invoice Client for the fees due for the Network Survey. Please note that some respondents may not be Council Members, and the Terms and Conditions of Council Membership would not apply to such respondents and detailed records for them will not be available aside from the information that GLG capture in the Network Survey.
