October 11, 2016

New York, New York; October 11, 2016 — GLG (Gerson Lehrman Group, Inc.), announced today that its global membership of leading professionals and thought leaders now includes more than 500,000 experts, making it the largest of its kind. The experts, known as “Network Members,” include U.S. and global policy specialists, economic advisers, academics, scientists, physicians, former C-level executives, and professional leaders of all kinds. GLG turns first to this base of expertise to deliver timely insight to clients, in addition to recruiting new Network Members for unique client inquiries. GLG now recruits more than 500 new Network Members to its membership weekly, largely in response to individual client requests, yielding approximately 30,000 new Members annually.

“Our mission is to transform the way the world’s top professionals share expertise, learn, and make decisions, and this unparalleled group of leading thinkers and doers makes that mission possible,” said GLG CEO Alexander Saint-Amand. “We’re honored that more professionals choose to affiliate with GLG than with anyone else. Having the biggest available network means we can be faster and more responsive. That, combined with our commitment to delivering the right expertise for every question, makes GLG an essential resource for our clients as they tackle critical strategic and operational questions.”

GLG was founded in 1998 to serve professionals who needed perspective that couldn’t be found in one-size-fits-all industry reports. It began connecting clients with smart people who had firsthand expertise or operational experience. Today, GLG serves the world’s leading investors, entrepreneurs, corporations, consulting firms, nonprofits, and startups. Clients partner with GLG to address their most complex strategic challenges, make better business decisions, and advance their careers through conversations, mentorships, small group convenings, surveys, and other interactions – all within GLG’s rigorous compliance framework. The company recently opened expanded offices in Austin, London, and Boston as it continues rapid employee and revenue growth in 2016.

GLG requires Network Members to sign its Terms and Conditions of Network Membership, by which they agree to adhere to GLG’s strict compliance standards. Each Network Member is also required to complete an interactive compliance tutorial. The tutorial is sector-specific, contains internal branching for certain questions, and is available in 20 languages. Among other things, the tutorial sensitizes Network Members to their confidentiality obligations and the importance of observing those obligations.
