Sean Mayberry founded StrongMinds in 2013. Sean was previously CEO of FXB International, an anti-poverty team in Africa, and COO for VisionSpring, which provides eyeglasses to low-income populations. He has also worked for Population Services International in India and the Congo and served as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. State Department. Sean holds a bachelor’s of science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Emory.

StrongMinds provides mental health services to impoverished African women whose depression symptoms prevent them from leading healthy, productive, and fulfilling lives. By adapting a proven therapeutic model, StrongMinds is scaling a cost-effective solution to the depression epidemic in Africa, with a goal of treating two million depressed African women by 2025.
