“47% of Americans have less than $400 available in case of emergency,” says Erik Moga, Program Director at IDEO, a global design and innovation company. How can fintech platforms design payment and financial technology to help consumers meet the basic needs of daily life? Moga argues that by designing simpler, more streamlined payment solutions—like secured credit cards, which limit the risk of default—fintech can help people meet their broader financial goals.
Erik Moga currently serves as the Director of Financial Health Programs at IDEO.org, a design and innovation consultancy focused on fighting poverty and spreading human-centered design through the social sector. Previously, Moga was the Global Insights Lead at Square, Inc., where he influenced all key products, including Square Register, Reader, Stand, Capital, and Appointments. Moga also has experience as a researcher at Yale University.
