Head of Design

Experience Level: Senior

The Global Head of Design will lead our organization's digital design strategy, driving innovation and excellence across all digital platforms. This executive role is responsible for setting the vision and direction for digital design initiatives, ensuring that our digital experiences meet the highest standards of creativity, usability, and effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of design principles, digital technology trends, and B2B and consumer user behavior, with a proven track record of leading design teams to deliver exceptional digital products and services on a global scale.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive digital design strategy that aligns with the organization's business goals and enhances client and expert network user experiences across all user journeys.
  • Team Management: Build and mentor a world-class digital design team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Design Excellence: Ensure the delivery of high-quality digital design projects, including all client and expert facing digital experiences including mobile apps.
  • Innovation and Trends: Stay abreast of the latest digital design trends and technologies, integrating innovative solutions and practices to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Global Perspective: Understand and incorporate diverse cultural and market-specific considerations into digital design strategies and solutions.
  • Performance Metrics: Define and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) for digital design projects, using data to drive design decisions and improve user experience.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, User Experience (UX), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in digital design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing a design team.
  • Extensive portfolio showcasing innovative design projects with a focus on digital platforms.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a global team.
  • Proficient in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma) and familiarity with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Deep understanding of UX/UI principles, design thinking methodology, and agile development processes.
  • Experience in conducting user research, usability testing, and analyzing customer feedback to inform design decisions.
  • Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

Working Environment: Flexible / Hybrid working arrangements typically requiring 2 days per week in office.

Compensation: GLG is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual compensation is based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. Certain roles may also be eligible for incentive compensation.

The anticipated hiring base salary range for this role is:
$150,100$280,000 USD
